I don't often have the time or opportunity to participate in fairs, but it's always a blast. You get to meet so many cool visitors, and connect with other participants about their own creative projects.

This year I updated my booth with several new DIY displays (with help from my dad and his garage full of awesome power tools). My family came down to support me and helped to set up everything before exploring the fair themselves, and my little sister stayed to work the booth with me!

Here's the booth setup. The "corner stand" was designed by my dad and I, built from scratch. The two boards can stand up on three legs for indoor shows (pictured) or can attach to the legs of the canopy for outdoor shows (where they create eye-level "walls" for the booth).

When I'm not using the boards, they function as drawers in the workbench at my apartment. I keep all my smaller jewelry organized there-- necklaces and earrings are displayed on pieces of cardstock with my brand info, and put into small plastic sleeves that I use for shipping online orders. These bags are attached to the board with binder clips.

I attached the binder clips to the boards with a rivet gun.




The headpiece display is just foamcore for floral arrangements with a scarf on top.

Elven Elegance

Elven poetry in proper Quenya in the Tengwar script, for all you awesome Tolkienites out there!

Here you can see the swirling tree roots!

(These earrings are new and not yet on my shop-- they feature lampworked beads with silver inlay made by another artisan, and real mint leaves which I cast in fine silver).

Emily is also wearing the braided celtic ring, the Eveningstar necklace, and the Elven leaf vine cuff.

And here we paired it with the freshwater pearl hair fork and a pair of fairy earrings I am uploading this week!

Colorful Celtic Knotwork Silk Scarf

I absolutely love Celtic knotwork-- it's what I always doodle during classes-- and it's a running joke with my classmates that I have to put knotwork into every project I can. Here's more proof :)

I envision this silk being worn more as a wrap than as a scarf, so you can see the full design.

Here you can see the flower spray hair clip too.

Just look at how luxuriously drapey that silk is! I was a little petrified to dye this one since it's a thicker silk.

Paired with the Alponse Mucha inspired hair fork.

We had such beautiful light for our photoshoot! I'm so glad we were able to take pictures when we did; the trees were changing colors but there were still flowers in the gardens!

The Elven scarf features Elvish script, a flowering tree, elegant swirls, and several shades of peridot greens.

Tolkien fans will probably be pleased to know that the script is proper Tengwar and the writing is a poem in Quenya. The scarf's colors are inspired by the pastel banner that Arwen carried to her wedding with Aragorn.

The bracelet is also Elf-inspired-- a sparkling silver cuff with glass leaves and pearls.

And in this picture you can see another new release-- a hair fork based on Alphonse Mucha's Art Nouveau pieces!
